How much does it cost to dump a mattress?
It ranges from free to a per-item fee, depending on the site. 24 sites in this table post mattresses as free, including Davis Street Transfer Station (Alameda County), Devlin Road Recycling and Transfer Facility (Napa County), San Francisco Transfer Station (San Francisco County), Shoreway Environmental Center (San Mateo County). Others charge per piece or weigh the mattress with your trash. Check the row for your site and its rate date.
Do I have to pay extra for a refrigerator or freezer?
Often yes. Appliances that hold refrigerant usually cost more than washers or stoves, because the refrigerant has to be removed. The appliance column copies each site's own wording, so look for separate Freon or refrigerant lines.
How many tires can I bring?
Many sites cap tires per trip or per year, and some charge more for tires still on the rim or for truck tires. The tire column shows the site's posted rule. Large loads of tires may need a manifest.
What does 'Accepted, fee not posted' mean?
The site says it takes that item, but its rate sheet does not print a separate price. It may be weighed with your load or priced at the gate. Call before you go.
