🗓️ How Pickup Works

Use the City's Collection Service Search Tool to find your schedule; the Service Area Map shows which hauler serves your street. Garbage and organics (green) are collected weekly on your regular collection day; recycling (blue) is collected every other week, based on whether the last digit of your address is odd or even. Containers must be out by 6 a.m.; residential collection hours are 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The City has franchise agreements with Gilton Solid Waste Management and Bertolotti Disposal. Each hauler has an exclusive service area, and your solid waste company is determined by which street you live on.

🛋️ Bulk Item Pickup

• 📞How to book: Contact your hauler to set an appointment: Gilton (209-527-3781, https://www.gilton.com/collection/#bulky-item-pickup) or Bertolotti (209-537-8000, https://bertolottidisposal.com/bulky-items/). Do not place items out until 6:00 PM the evening before your appointment; place them in the street against the curb in front of your own residence, not in the alley, and do not block sidewalks, driveways, hydrants, storm drains or garbage cans.
• 📏Limits: Single-family garbage customers get two bulky item pickups per calendar year. Haul it Yourself option: two vouchers per calendar year, valid seven days after issuance, loads no larger than 4 ft x 4 ft x 8 ft. Not accepted: concrete, asphalt, construction or demolition debris, wood, yard waste, dead animals, hazardous waste, chemicals, household garbage, business items, liquids, paints, solvents, plate glass, TVs, computer monitors, tires, automobile parts.

🎄 Holiday Delays

Both haulers observe four holidays per year, and service may be delayed by one day during the affected week. Holidays named: New Year's Day, Fourth of July, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day.

💵 What Residents Pay

♻️ Recycling

Contaminated containers are tagged and not collected until the contamination is removed and an inspection is scheduled with the Solid Waste Division.
