🗓️ How Pickup Works
Enter your address in the City of Miami Address Search to see your garbage, recycling and bulky trash days. Residential garbage is collected twice per week. Recycling is on days different from garbage and your route is based on your address. Bulky trash is collected once per week. The schedule page says to put bins out 12 to 24 hours before the morning of pickup and remove them within 24 hours after pickup to avoid a citation; the department page says garbage and recycling containers go out "no later than 6:00 AM of service day." Keep bins at least five feet from trees, cars and light poles.
The department page says it "provides garbage, bulky trash and recycling services." City service is for homes and residential properties with no more than three units; properties with more than three units must contact a private, city-approved commercial hauler. Unincorporated Miami-Dade County is served by the County, not the City; this record covers the City of Miami only.

🛋️ Bulk Item Pickup
- 💵Cost: No curbside bulky trash charge is printed on the pages checked. Mini Dump cost is not printed.
- 📞How to book: Curbside bulky trash is collected once per week on your scheduled day (check the address search). Non-vegetative bulky trash can be placed out "as early as the evening before." Clean vegetative waste can go out up to two days before service. Residents can also take bulky items and yard trash to the Mini Dump Facility, 1290 NW 20 Street, open Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Saturday 8:00 AM to 12 Noon (closed Sunday, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and Christmas Day), with one proof of City of Miami residency.
- 📏Limits: Vegetative piles "larger than 100 cubic feet" may not be left on the public right-of-way (department page). Yard trash bundles must be tied, no longer than 3 ft and no heavier than 50 lbs (schedule page). Mini Dump: "A MAXIMUM OF ONE (1) TRIP PER DAY ALLOWED (Each trip is no more than a pickup truck load)"; no commercial-marked, dump-type or panel-type trucks. Mini Dump does not accept household garbage, construction and demolition debris, hazardous waste, paint or auto parts including tires.

🎄 Holiday Delays
The department is closed only on Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Christmas Day. If a regular pickup falls on either day, it moves to the next scheduled pickup day in your area. City news notices for other holidays (Thanksgiving, Labor Day, Memorial Day, Veterans Day and others) announce regular service. Holidays named: Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Christmas Day.
🌀 Hurricanes and Storm Debris
After a storm, separate debris by type (vegetation, appliances, furniture, electronics, construction and demolition) into individual piles, placed at the curb five feet from all objects, not blocking the right of way and not around poles, fire hydrants, mailboxes or storm drains. Bagged debris and household trash are not collected as storm debris; put them in the green garbage bin. "Only after a hurricane will demolition and construction items will be eligible for pickup." The City hires debris removal companies, and debris types are collected separately, sometimes a few days apart. Call 311.
