🗑️ Hialeah Trash Pickup

Who collects in Hialeah, Florida, how to find your pickup day, bulk item pickup, holiday delays and what it costs. Checked October 31, 2026.

⚡ Quick Answer

In Hialeah, residential trash is collected by Waste Connections of Florida (garbage), Coastal Waste and Recycling (recycling). Pickup days depend on your address, so use the official lookup (Garbage Collection Map (separate Recycling Schedule Map and Bulk Schedule Map are linked from the Solid Waste page)) to find yours. Questions: (305) 556-3800 (Public Works, Option 7 for Solid Waste); Waste Connection (305) 638-3800 for missed garbage. Bulk item pickup: No fee is printed on the Bulk & Yard Waste page.

Checked October 31, 2026 against the city's and its hauler's own pages. We never print a pickup day for a whole city, because it changes by street.

🗓️ How Pickup Works

Garbage is collected twice per week: "Mondays and Thursdays or Tuesdays and Fridays are the scheduled collection days for customers." Recycling is collected twice each month. Bulky and yard waste is collected once each month. Each has its own City map: Garbage Collection Map, Recycling Schedule Map (https://hgis.hialeahfl.gov/hiagis/arcgis/apps/Government_Services/Recycling/Recycling.html) and Bulk Schedule Map (https://hgis.hialeahfl.gov/hiagis/arcgis/apps/Government_Services/bulk/Bulk.html). Put containers out the night before or before 6 am on collection day; service hours are 6 am to 7 pm. Containers cannot exceed 50 pounds, lids must close fully, and containers go at least 5 feet from cars, mailboxes, fences, hydrants, trees and poles, wheels facing your property.

The City's Solid Waste Division page says: "Waste Connections of Florida provides residential curbside garbage collection and disposal" and "Coastal Waste and Recycling provides residential curbside recycling service." The City's Public Works Solid Waste Division handles bulk and yard waste information, billing, complaints and code enforcement. An older City page (category labeled "Public Works - Old Do Not Delete") still names Progressive Waste Solutions; the current page names Waste Connections.

🌀 Hurricanes and Storm Debris

"When a hurricane watch is in effect and approaching, avoid piling bulk and yard waste on the curbside"; keep it against your property if it is not collected in time. Bring in and secure garbage and recycling containers. Avoid trimming or cutting trees when a hurricane is approaching. "Solid waste collection will continue to be collected until it is no longer safe for collection." After the storm, separate yard waste and regular bulk from hurricane damage materials, store damaged building materials (fencing, lumber, drywall, flooring, roofing and similar) separately, and do not mix household garbage or chemicals with yard or bulk waste.
