Checked October 31, 2026 against the city's and its hauler's own pages. We never print a pickup day for a whole city, because it changes by street.
🗓️ How Pickup Works
Garbage removal is provided on a weekly basis. Find your pickup day on the Garbage and Trash Pickup Map or call Public Works at (843) 745-1026. Place containers at street side before 7:00 am on collection day; they are not to be placed more than 12 hours prior to that time and must be removed within 12 hours of pickup. Yard waste is collected weekly on the same day as household garbage service. Recycling is collected on the same day as garbage and yard waste. Set bulk and yard items out no more than 48 hours before your scheduled pickup.
The Sanitation Division "is responsible for garbage and trash removal for all areas within the City limits." Recycling is provided by Charleston County to county residents; the City page also links Dorchester County Garbage and Recycling. The City does not pick up commercial or industrial trash.
