🗓️ How Pickup Works
The city points residents to the WasteWise app to keep track of their collection schedule and get notices of service delays. Bulky items go on the curb no later than 7 a.m. on your collection day, and as early as 6 p.m. the day before.

🛋️ Bulk Item Pickup
- 💵Cost: Bulky item pick-up is not free. FY 2026 fee schedule: excess household trash 4.5 to 9 CY $25.00, over 9 to 13.5 CY $50.00, over 13.5 to 18 CY $75.00; appliances/white goods $25.00; electronics $25.00; tires $5 off rim / $8 on rim. Two Free Excess Trash Weeks per year (2026: week of March 16 to 20 and week of September 21 to 25) when excess household trash is collected at no charge on the regular pickup day; tires, electronics and appliances still carry fees.
- 📞How to book: Call the Customer Care Center at 704-866-6714. Place bulky items on the curb no later than 7 a.m. on your collection day (as early as 6 p.m. the day before).
- 📏Limits: For items too large, heavy or bulky to fit in the green garbage cart. No automobile parts or batteries; no dirt, rocks, concrete or ceramic tile; no liquids, poisons or explosives. Mark unbroken glass with a duct tape X, bag smaller items, bag all sheetrock and insulation, cut floor covering to 4-foot lengths and roll and tie it.
