🗓️ How Pickup Works
Use the City's Find My Trash/Bulk Pick-up Day map. Residential trash is collected twice per week. Bulk and yard waste are collected on your regularly scheduled bulk day, twice per month. Trash carts must be placed curbside before 7:00 a.m. on your scheduled collection days; bulk and yard waste also go out before 7:00 a.m. During emergencies or severe weather, watch the City website for service updates.
The City page says: "The City of Pembroke Pines provides residential curbside trash collection service through Waste Pro USA." The Bulk & Yard Waste page and City FAQ say "Eastern Waste Systems (EWS) collects bulk and yard waste twice per month." The City has "an exclusive franchise agreement with Waste Pro for the collection of all construction and demolition debris." Residential recycling collection is currently suspended citywide (see recycling_notes).

🛋️ Bulk Item Pickup
- 💵Cost: Included up to the limit. "Residents may request up to two (2) additional pickups per calendar year" over the limit; after that, "$15.00 per cubic yard for the overage." Contractor or construction debris: the City "may remove it for a fee of $25.00 per cubic yard." Fees are undated on the FAQ.
- 📞How to book: Bulk and yard waste are collected twice per month on your scheduled bulk day by Eastern Waste Systems; no appointment needed. Place items curbside before 7:00 a.m., at least 3 feet from mailboxes, trees or overhead wires. Bulk trash and yard waste may be mixed in one pile. Bag, tie or bundle loose leaves and small branches. Appliances with Freon are collected only if a certified technician has removed the Freon and affixed the required sticker and tag; refrigerators must also have the compressor and all doors removed.
- 📏Limits: "Each Residential Service Unit may place up to 10 cubic yards of bulk waste per scheduled pickup." No glass. No hazardous waste (batteries, oil, paint, chemicals). Contractor-generated and construction and demolition debris is not collected and must be removed by the contractor (Waste Pro holds the exclusive C&D franchise).

♻️ Recycling
Curbside recycling is suspended citywide. The City says the suspension "began in 2022 due to high contamination rates, escalating operational costs" and that it "is actively exploring options to re-implement blue cart recycling service." Residents are encouraged to keep their blue carts; as of May 13, 2026, residents who no longer want the cart can request pickup from the Public Services Department at 954-518-9060.
