🗑️ Orlando Trash Pickup

Who collects in Orlando, Florida, how to find your pickup day, bulk item pickup, holiday delays and what it costs. Checked October 31, 2026.

⚡ Quick Answer

In Orlando, residential trash is collected by City of Orlando Public Works, Solid Waste Division. Pickup days depend on your address, so use the official lookup (Trash, Recycling & Yard Waste Pick-Up Schedule) to find yours. Questions: (407) 246-2314. Bulk item pickup: "You can put up to two large items on the curb on yard waste day for free pickup" if they can be loaded by hand.

Checked October 31, 2026 against the city's and its hauler's own pages. We never print a pickup day for a whole city, because it changes by street.

🗓️ How Pickup Works

Use the City's Trash, Recycling & Yard Waste Pick-Up Schedule page to find your days (it also offers holiday schedules and courtesy pickup reminders). "Residents in single-family homes receive once-per-week garbage, recycling, yard waste and large item collection." Large items go out on your yard waste day. Yard waste goes on the curb prior to 6 a.m. on your pickup date.

City crews collect within the City of Orlando Solid Waste service area; customers are "billed monthly through the Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC)." The City warns that some addresses labeled "Orlando" are in unincorporated Orange County and are not City customers.

🛋️ Bulk Item Pickup

  • 💵Cost: "You can put up to two large items on the curb on yard waste day for free pickup" if they can be loaded by hand. Claw truck pickups cost extra: "The cost will depend on the type and amount of items you're throwing away." No dollar amount printed. Yard waste over the weekly limit: contact Solid Waste to schedule an additional pickup for a fee (no amount printed).
  • 📞How to book: Put large items at the edge of your property, before the curb, on your yard waste day; "There's no need to schedule the pickup ahead of time." Do not block the street, sidewalk, mailboxes, trees, poles, fire hydrants, storm drains or overhead utilities. Remove refrigerator and freezer doors. Items too big or heavy to load by hand need a claw truck pickup scheduled by calling 407.246.2314. For many items, request a roll-off dumpster or dumpster bag pickup.
  • 📏Limits: Large items: up to two per week, hand-loadable (refrigerators, dishwashers, washers, dryers, sofas, chairs, dressers, TV consoles, toilets, sinks). Yard waste: "Up to 4 cubic yards is collected each week." Branches no more than 4 inches in diameter and 4 feet long in 40 lb tied bundles; bags up to 40 lbs each; not loose on the ground. No dirt, rock, gravel, landscape ties, fences, pressure treated wood, or contractor or landscaper waste.

🌀 Hurricanes and Storm Debris

After a storm, report your debris online or at 407.246.2314 so crews can route efficiently. Separate piles: large vegetation; construction debris (fencing, roofing, lumber, drywall, carpet, furniture); appliances (food removed, doors secured or removed); and bagged or bundled small yard waste. Keep debris clear of mailboxes, fire hydrants, storm drains and utility poles. Debris in backyards, driveways or behind fences, or mixed with household garbage, will not be collected. Contractors must haul their own debris. "Storm debris will be collected within about six weeks."
